Crown Princess Victoria tested the electric snowmobile currently being evaluated within the CLAP project

Crown Princess Victoria shows strong interest in Arctic climate challenges

On 13 February 2026, the Interreg Aurora funded project CLAP was invited to an event where the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten hosted the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria on the Bothnian Sea outside Luleå.

CLAP is a project running from 2024 to 2026, aimed at building climate change adaptation capacity within the management of protected areas in northern Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

During the early daylight hours, the Crown Princess tested the electric snowmobile currently being evaluated within CLAP as a way to reduce emissions from nature management during fieldwork. She took several laps on the snow‑covered ice in –25°C conditions.
