During the first week of February 2026, participants of the Interreg Aurora funded project HIDDEN got together in Vaasa to set the future plans for the coming three years of the project. HIDDEN will provide in-depth knowledge of ecology, geology, biodiversity, and natural values that can be used in the practical management of estuarine areas, including nature protection, marine restoration and fisheries management.
About 20 people gathered from six different organisations, three from Finland and three from Sweden. During the three days spent in Vaasa the project team got to discuss focus areas for studies i.e. which estuaries they should focus their activities to, results that the project aims to achieve in the end and worked towards a joint understanding and agreement of activities and how to execute them in the coming years. The team also talked about HIDDEN’s contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and decided on their primary goals of contribution.
