A possibility to earn ECTS credits
By attending six language cafés, writing a learning diary and feedback, you will earn 1 ECTS credit for the Oamk course YY00ED99-3002 Language and Culture Project. The course is also available on the Finnish Opin.fi service and the ECTS are available for any Finnish citizen.
If you attend all the autumn cafés, you can collect up to 3 ECTS credits for elective studies.
Network and learn together
Participants from Sweden and Norway will also join the cafés – an excellent opportunity to practice Nordic languages and build international contacts.
No registration required! If you want credits, contact Ida Valtonen at ida.valtonen(at)oamk.fi or Marita Metsävainio at marita.metsavainio(at)oamk.fi.
We use Howspace as the learning platform: Svenska | Roots and Future – Language Cafés.
Extra tip: We also organize two webinars:
- November 14, 13:00–14:00: The Status of the Swedish Language in Finland
- December 12, 13:00–14:00: Finland-Swedish Culture
Both webinars and the cafés are open to everyone and use the same Zoom link. Welcome!
The language cafés and webinars are organized by the Interreg Aurora-funded Roots and Future project. The project partners are Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Finland, Sverigefinska folkhögskolan in Haparanda, Sweden, and the Kven Language Center in Alta, Norway.
