From 28–30 May 2026, Luleå will become a meeting point for the electronic music scene in northern Sweden, Norway and Finland. Arctic Electronic Music Meetup (AEM) 2026 brings together DJs, producers, organisers, labels, festivals and other music professionals from across the Arctic region. The aim is to connect people across borders, create visibility for a growing but often underrepresented scene, and build space for new collaborations, ideas and future projects.
Electronic music in the North exists across long distances, local scenes and small networks. With AEM 2026, Arctic Pulse and Norrbottensmusiken want to bring these people and places closer together — and show that the Arctic region has its own electronic music scene, energy and potential.
The meetup is designed not only as a temporary event, but as the starting point for a recurring platform that strengthens networks, creates new working relationships and supports future cross-border collaboration within the electronic music field. The ambition is for AEM to become a recurring annual meeting point for the electronic music scene in the Arctic region — a format that can continue beyond the project period and contribute to long-term collaboration between artists, organisers, festivals, labels and producers across northern Sweden, Norway and Finland.
During three days, the programme will include talks, workshops, presentations, networking sessions and creative exchange between professionals working with electronic music in different parts of the North.
In connection with the meetup, Electronic Producers Camp 2026 is also being organised together with BD Pop and Joncell Productions. The camp gives electronic music producers the opportunity to create new music, explore different production techniques and present their work as part of AEM 2026. It also creates a space for producers to meet other artists, develop their sound and become part of a wider cross-border network.
AEM 2026 also includes two public music events in Luleå:
- Arctic Frequencies – Electronic Live Showcase
On 29 May at Ebeneser, electronic artists from northern Sweden, Finland and Norway will present live electronic music from the Arctic region. The evening moves between electronica, ambient/drone, techno and acid, performed live on electronic instruments. Arctic Frequencies gives the audience a chance to experience new sounds from the North and discover live electronic music from a growing Arctic scene.
- Arctic Pulses – Electronic Club Night
On 30 May at Kulturens Hus, AEM 2026 closes with Arctic Pulses, a club night featuring DJs from northern Norway, Sweden and Finland. With two dance floors, bar and music ranging from techno and house to UK bass and trance, Arctic Pulses opens up the electronic music scene in the North to a wider audience and creates a public meeting point between local audiences and artists from across the region.
AEM 2026 is part of Arctic Pulse, the shared external brand of Arctic Music Circles, an Interreg Aurora funded project supporting cross-border music collaboration in northern Sweden, Finland and Norway. Learn more about the project Arctic Music Circles
