The Interreg Aurora funded project Oummu rââst raaj and The Sámi Education Institute in Finland have just published the first ever beginner’s level, self-study online training on Skolt Saami language that is available to all, free of charge!
The online training, available in both Finnish and Norwegian, offers a low-threshold opportunity to get to know the Skolt Saami language on your own terms – regardless of background, place of residence or daily schedule. The study module, which is approximately two credits in length, is easy to complete and suitable for a wide range of learners. When implemented independently, the training is targeted at adults and young people, but in guided activities, the training materials can be used in teaching even younger children.
