The Interreg Aurora Steering Committees, Sápmi and Aurora have approved 9 new Small-scale projects in May 2026. The projects will strengthen cross-border cooperation and address shared regional challenges through knowledge exchange and innovation.

The Small-scale projects will bring partners together across borders to collaborate on a wide range of important topics such as:

  • Aerpiemaahtoe (traditional knowledge) about Sámi food culture, such as plants, fish, animals, seasons and sustainable use of natural resources, as well as exploring interest in small-scale food development and production.
  • Potential development of railway connectivity between Storuman in Västerbotten and Mo i Rana in Helgeland.
  • Tourism access to Arctic research and science-related environments.
  • Sámi literary.

Best wishes to all the project partners for a successful cross-border cooperation.
