AI-HEALTH Nordic

The Interreg Aurora funded project AI-HEALTH Nordic aims to improve healthcare access in remote and sparsely populated areas of the Nordic Arctic. The project addresses challenges such as long travel distances, limited services, and rising healthcare costs by using artificial intelligence to support diagnostics, monitoring, and care delivery closer to patients.

Through pilot projects in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, the project tests AI-powered healthcare models that strengthen local capacity and make rural health systems more sustainable. It brings together SMEs, healthcare providers, and research institutions to co-develop practical, reliable digital solutions tailored to the region’s cultural and linguistic diversity. By combining real-life testing, cross-border collaboration, and knowledge sharing, AI-HEALTH Nordic not only improves access to care but also builds a long-term digital innovation ecosystem that supports local economies, enhances public healthcare, and contributes to broader Nordic and European goals for digital health, rural development, and social inclusion.
