Interreg Aurora opens new calls for both small-scale and regular project applications

Today, 9 February 2026, the Interreg Aurora Programme opens two new calls.

  • 6th call for small-scale project applications
  • 8th call for regular project applications

Both calls will close 9 March 2026.

Please check the terms of reference before applying
You can find the terms and detailed information about the calls on the web page Calls for applications – Interreg Aurora 

The terms of reference for the call states if there are any limitations, such as:
– closed Priorities and/or Specific Objectives
– financial limitations and accessible funding to apply
– other specific conditions related to the progress of the Interreg Aurora programme.

Note! 6th call for small-scale project applications
Sub-area Sápmi
Applications for Small-scale projects within sub-area Sápmi are specifically welcomed in this call. All Priorities and Specific Objectives will be open for project applications regarding EU-funding and IR-funding.

Sub-area Aurora
Specific objective 1.1 Research and innovation in sub-area Aurora is closed regarding EU-funding and IR-funding.

Note! 8th call for regular project applications
Sub-area Sápmi
Call 8 is closed for Sápmi applications that include IR-funding.

It is therefore not possible to include Norwegian project partners applying for IR-funding in call 8 in sub-area Sápmi. However, Norwegian organisations can be associated partners without a formal budget in the application. In call 9, in the autumn of 2026, it will again be possible to include Norwegian partners applying for IR-funding.

Sub-area Aurora
Applications in priority 1 that involves Research and innovation activities in SMEs, including networking or SME business development and internationalisation, including productive investments are especially welcomed.

Project applications within priority 2 that plans to work with following areas, are also especially welcomed:
– air quality and noise reduction measures
– protection, restoration and sustainable use of Natura 2000 sites
– sustainable mobility.
