Arctic Pulse DJ Exchange: Frozen People (FI) × Insomnia (NO)
Through the Arctic Pulse network, an artist exchange between Frozen People Festival (Oulu, Finland) and Insomnia Festival (Tromsø, Norway) connects the electronic music scenes across the Arctic.
In March 2025, Guse from Tromsø performed at Frozen People as the first step of the collaboration. On 18 October 2025, the exchange continues as Oulu artist Oivo performs at Insomnia Festival in Tromsø.
The exchange supports Arctic Pulse’s objectives to:
- Strengthen cross-border cooperation between Nordic festivals and producers.
- Promote artist mobility and circulation of high-quality contemporary music across the North.
- Engage younger audiences and expand Arctic Pulse’s reach within the electronic music field.
This activity is coordinated within Arctic Pulse by the City of Oulu (FI), Scene Nord (NO), Musikk i Nordland (NO) and Nordnorsk Jazzsenter (NO).
The exchange serves as a practical model for future cross-border cooperation between Arctic festivals beyond the current project period.
