Dome demo in Umeå

Can virtual nature convey a feeling of being in nature, even when being indoors?

The Interreg Aurora funded project NATUREACH Kick off workshop in sunny Umeå on 30th March gathered experts in social and health care, VR- and digital technology and multidisciplinary research to discuss how to design virtual nature interventions from a client perspective. The project arranged an inspiring VR-session at Curiosum dome theatre and a great opportunity to test different VR-equipment together with top-experts in the field, which gave important information for the equipment selection for different client groups in the project.

Can virtual nature convey a feeling of being in nature, even when being indoors? What kind of virtual nature environments could support health and well-being in hospital care or as a part of services for people with disabilities or the elderly?

The project partners sends warmest thanks to all participants, it’s great to continue the collaboration creating new digital nature-based service models for health and well-being. You can find more information about the workshop on this webpage.
