STRENGTHENING JOINT CRISIS PREPAREDNESS IN THE BOTNIA REGION

Resilient Botnia

The Interreg Aurora funded project Resilient Botnia project aims to improve crisis preparedness across the Botnia region, covering areas in northern Sweden and western Finland. By mapping existing systems, identifying structural gaps, and collecting best practices, the project contributes to a stronger and more coherent emergency readiness across borders.

The project is jointly implemented by Region Västerbotten (SE) and Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (FI), but the focus is regional and systemic: understanding how the Botnia region as a whole can build resilience to future disruptions.

Key outcomes include a comparative analysis of preparedness systems, stakeholder engagement activities, and a joint Resilience Report outlining recommendations and a roadmap for future collaboration and investments.

The project supports the Interreg Aurora objective of strengthening cross-border governance and resilience in a time of increasing uncertainty.
