Nature Refines

Organic residues as raw material for water-cleaning and energy

Nature Refines

The aim of the Interreg Aurora funded project Nature Refines is to contribute to a circular society by finding new ways to recycle rest products that today are a cost for companies. The project will use organic rest products to clean waste. Active carbon will be produced from logging residues, manure, micro- and macroalgae, and straw. To secure circularity the project will regenerate the active carbon after it has removed pollutants from wastewater. Moreover, the use of activated carbon in the biogas process will be investigated as well as a component in the production of composites.

Four partners from Sweden and Finland will share knowledge, residual products and scientific equipment while working in close cooperation with companies.
