Arctic Pulse organised an international songwriting camp on the island of Hailuoto outside Oulu in Northern Finland the 23–25 February 2026. The camp was organised within the Interreg Aurora funded project Arctic Music Circles through the Arctic Pulse brand.
Around 20 young producers, musicians and songwriters from northern Sweden, Finland and Norway participated in the camp. The participants were selected through an open call, which received a high number of applications and demonstrated a strong demand for cross-border creative opportunities for young music creators in the northern regions.
During three days the participants worked in mixed teams and created new music together. The camp was supported by mentors from the music industry, including Warner Music Finland.
After the camp, the newly created songs were presented at the Arctic Pulse Producers Network event in Oulu, where the participants received feedback from music industry professionals and organisers.
The songwriting camp supports the objectives of Arctic Pulse by strengthening collaboration between young music creators across borders and by creating new connections between emerging talent and the professional music sector in the Interreg Aurora area.
The material, feedback and documentation generated during the camp will also contribute to the continued development of cross-border collaboration initiatives in the Arctic music sector.
The camp was organised within the Interreg Aurora funded project Arctic Music Circles through the Arctic Pulse brand.
