Strengthening Community Led Local Development Through Joint Cross-Border Action

Cross-border CLLD along the river

The project’s objective is to strengthen cross-border cooperation by developing a Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) model for Finland, Sweden, and potentially Norway. Currently, administrative and financial structures vary between these countries, making long-term collaboration challenging. Small local actors also face difficulties in accessing international funding mechanisms, limiting their participation in cross-border projects.

The project comprises three key work packages. The first focuses on building a collaboration network and identifying CLLD partners in Finland and Sweden, while exploring Norway’s potential participation. The second assesses local development needs, available resources, and potential funding opportunities for the 2028-2032 period, including possibilities within the Interreg Aurora program. The third develops operational alternatives based on findings from the first two work packages.
