The Rediscover Blue Way project brings Finland and Sweden together to revitalise the historic Blue Road network, once a thriving cross-border route for tourism, culture, and cooperation. Over the years, collaboration between key stakeholders has diminished, leading to fragmented development and reduced visibility of the route.
Our project aims to create a sustainable governance model that strengthens cross-border partnerships and paves the way for future cooperation. Through joint workshops, stakeholder engagement, and the development of a long-term action plan, we will reconnect the Finnish and Swedish Blue Road organisations. The project focuses on building institutional capacity, addressing administrative barriers, and fostering sustainable tourism that respects both cultural heritage and the environment.
By reactivating this important corridor, the project contributes to stronger regional identity, increased opportunities for local entrepreneurs, and a vibrant platform for long-term cross-border development.
