Arctic Pulse brings the unique production Marja-Liisa Orgelsuite to new audiences in Finland.
Created by composer Mariann Torset from Målselv (NO), the concert brings together six pump organs and leading folk musicians from Norway, Sweden, and Finland – an extraordinary soundscape rarely heard on stage.
Originally commissioned for the Kalottspel folk music festival in 2018, the production has already been performed nearly 30 times across the Nordic region. Now it returns with four new concerts in Finland:
- 23 Sept – Kulturhuset DUX, Kristinestad
- 24 Sept – Kaustinen Folk Arts Center
- 25 Sept – Kalevan Navetta, Seinäjoki
- 26 Sept – Kortesjärven Ylikylä YA, Kauhava
Produced by Kalottspel and Folkemusikk Nord, with choreography by Sigurd Johan Heide (Kartellet), the Marja-Liisa Orgelsuite highlights the pump organ as a vital folk music instrument across the Nordic countries.
This tour is part of the Interreg Aurora project Arctic Music Circles, presented through the brand Arctic Pulse – strengthening cultural exchange and cooperation across borders in the North.
