ReCap ASáp – Regaining capacity in a changing Sápmi

Open position! Sámi Advocacy Program

Do you want to enhance your skills in how to advocate for Sámi issues on an international and national level, and get hands-on experience in organisational work in Sápmi? Then this Advocacy program is for you!

The Interreg funded project ReCap ASáp: Regaining capacity in a changing Sápmi are recruiting three participants for a one-year Advocacy program. The three paid positions are full-time and lasts 12 months. There will be one position in each of the countries: Finland, Norway and Sweden.

What does the Advocacy program offer?
The program will provide excellent training for anyone considering a future working on Sámi and indigenous issues, and indigenous rights on a national or international level in the EU, UN and Arctic Council. The program is designed to promote a Sámi perspective.

The program participants will learn about the Sámi society, get training in advocacy work, and hands-on experience in organisational work. The program will also provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the ways in which the Saami Council, Suoma Sámiid Guovddášsearvi and other Sámi organisations and institutions advocate for the promotion of Sámi issues both on an international and national level.
