In connection with Arctic Electronic Music Meetup – AEM 2026, 17 electronic music producers gathered at BD Pop’s studios in Luleå from 27–30 May 2026. The activity was developed within Arctic Pulse, the shared cultural brand of Arctic Music Circles – an Interreg Aurora project supporting long-term cross-border music collaboration across northern Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The group included 13 participants from Sweden, one from Finland, one from Norway and two from Denmark. The camp gave them access to analogue synthesisers, drum machines, samplers and other music equipment that may not be readily available in their everyday work.
With Hans-Lennart Jonsäll of Joncell Productions as mentor, the producers worked in groups, tested new ideas and explored different approaches to electronic music production. The shared studio environment allowed participants with different musical backgrounds and working methods to learn from one another and develop new material together.
Electronic music producers in the North often work independently and across large geographical distances, with limited opportunities to spend several days creating music together.
Bringing the participants into the same studios turned cross-border exchange into practical artistic collaboration. Instead of only discussing possible future projects, they were given the time, tools and creative space to begin working together immediately.
The music created during the camp was later presented during Norrbotten Sound Lab as part of the AEM 2026 programme. The producers shared their work with artists, organisers, labels, festivals and other music professionals and received direct feedback on the new material.
The presentation connected the creative process inside the studios with the wider professional network gathered in Luleå. It also introduced the producers’ work to new contacts from across the North.
Electronic Producers Camp showed how a shared creative environment can turn new meetings into concrete artistic work. New music was created, knowledge was exchanged, and new contacts and working relationships began to form.
Electronic Producers Camp 2026 was organised by Arctic Pulse and Norrbottensmusiken together with BD Pop, in collaboration with Joncell Productions, City of Oulu, Nordnorsk Jazzsenter, Musikk i Nordland and Scene Nord.
